Dr. Phuong T. Nguyen, D.D.S.
"I have always dreamed of designing my own office to be a relaxing place for me, for my employees and especially for patients," says Dr. Phuong T. Nguyen. She did some research and found she wasn't the only dentist thinking this way. Following her own inspiration and the best ideas from other dentists, she designed her San Bruno office around a four seasons theme. "I invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment and facilities." These included new chairs with "ultrasoft leather" that matched the theme. Knowing that her patients would spend a lot of time looking at the ceiling, "I had the interior designer do a ceiling mural with blue sky and leaves and birds."
Making patients feel comfortable was only part of Dr. Nguyen's plan. The other part was adding the best equipment, including new lighting and, "digital x-rays that reduce radiation exposure to patients significantly. Not only that we save our environment." This is because digital x-rays don't use the chemicals and fixers needed by traditional x-ray film. For Dr. Nguyen, being a green dentist in San Bruno is just part of her responsibilities to the community.
"The city is full of sunshine and it is an especially close-knit community," she tells us. Doing her part to take care of it and her neighbors is important to Dr. Nguyen. That's one of the reasons she wanted to bring laser dentistry to San Bruno, as well as other advanced tools and techniques. Even though she's been practicing dentistry for over 17 years, she continues to keep up-to-date with the latest advancements. "I have participated and continued to participate in orthodontic, periodontal surgery, implantology, TMJ, oral medicine and laser dentistry continuing education courses."
Dr. Nguyen seeks to help as many in her community as possible by working with a wide array of insurance options, including:
- Delta Dental
- United Concordia
"I practice all phases of dentistry: restorative, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, oral surgery, implantology, periodontology, and TMJ as well," she tells us. "I have a passion for all phases of dentistry because I believe a person is a whole, not just the mouth or teeth."
